On Saturday evening, I went along to The Brentwood Centre with John Green from Premier Physiotherapy and a couple of Fit 4 clients to watch my client Alan Mortlock achieve his life time ambition of climbing into the ring and competing in a professional combat bout. I saw Alan prior to the fight and he looked relaxed and ready for it and had the 'tigger bounce' so many competitive athletes display prior to an event.
He was up against a man half his age but infinitely more experienced in Mali Richardson and ultimately that experience was to be the difference between the 2 men as Mali ran out victorious.
Shortly afterwards I popped into the dressing room to chat with Alan and the 'tigger bounce' was still evident. Despite the loss in the cage he was beaming ear to ear having got in there and done it.
Last night I received a text from Alan saying how much he had enjoyed training and wanted to keep it going for his next goal.... looking good on holiday!!
