Off season used to be quiet time when I worked for a football club.
Now I am working with a few players on a One to One basis i don't feel like i have stopped!!
Craig Bellamy had a knee injury at the end of last season which he aggravated during the International game versus Finland, so he was determined to get back to fitness so that he would be firing on all 12 cylinders (it used to be 4 cylinders but footballers don't drive 4 cylinder cars!) To that end i spent 2 weeks in Cardiff working with him after he had spent a month in London working with John.
Following that myself and John juggled our time making sure that Dean Ashton, Kieron Dyer, David James as well as Leon McKenzie all received the individual input they needed.
June then finished with a training camp in Vale Do Lobo, Portugal. All the above attended with the exception of Dean who used his wedding as an excuse to stay in England to train rather than graft in the soft sand (lightweight!!!)
David, Kieron, Craig and Leon all reported to there clubs for pre-season training so hopefully they will continue to progress under the guidance of the club fitness staff.
July is my holiday time so I will be off to Portugal for a change, this time no sand running.
